Using gripping devices
Lift only one plate at a time when using a grip.
Make sure the jaw span of the grip is appropriate for the plate thickness.
Check that clamping surfaces of the grip are undamaged and that these
surfaces and the contact points are not dirty or coated with ice.
Before the lift, make sure that the grip is firm on the load and that
the tightening torque is correct.
When using two grips place them so that they follow the lifting direction
of the chain. The diagonal loading may be no higher than 10 degrees
(= diagonal pull).
If you make a vertical rotating lift with a bolted gripping device,
it should be tightened before each new lift.
Lifting grips are to be used independently only by persons
that have adequate training in using them.
