11. FIRE PROTECTION
Flammable gases and liquids
Be extremely careful when working with
an open flame. If you work in a place
where there is a risk of fire developing,
always consult your supervisor and / or
fire department before starting the work.
Keep in mind any special instructions
regarding hot work operations. Don’t
hesitate to ask your supervisor.
Flammable liquids cause a great risk for
fire because of their low flashpoint. In the
worst case this can lead to an explosion.
The flashpoint is the lowest temperature
where a substance converts to gas in
normal atmospheric pressure and can be
ignited by a near-by flame.
