Shock
Causes: Heavy bleeding, extensive burns, severe dehydration, allergic reaction
Symptoms: Rapid and weak pulse
Pale skin and cold sweat
Rapid breathing
Impaired consciousness
Patient is restless.
First aid: Stop the bleeding
Make an emergency call
Lay the person down, raise the limbs
Keep the casualty calm and reassure him /her
Turn an unconscious but breathing casualty to a lateral
recovery position
Check the breathing
Always turn the unconscious person
to a lateral recovery position.

Lateral recovery position of an unconscious patient with a spinal injury.
If you suspect the casualty has a spinal damage,
do not attempt to move him / her unless absolutely necessary.
When an unconscious person with a spinal injury is on recovery
position, always support his / her head.
