25. EXPERTS OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
The purpose of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee, or an alternate cooperative,
is to promote occupational health and safety at the workplace. If the number of
employees regularly working at a workplace, including office personnel, totals at least
twenty, an OSH Committee should be established at the workplace, unless some other
provision has been agreed upon. The OSH Committee is consists of the employer or
persons appointed by the employer and representatives elected by the workforce and
office personnel. The functions are defined in the Decree on the Supervision of Occupational
Safety and Health.
In addition to the OSH personnel mentioned earlier in this chapter, there may be other
OSH experts in the workplace, such as chemical supervisor, electrical supervisor,
radiation supervisor, pneumatic equipment supervisor, environmental expert, as well
as occupational health specialists.
