9. PHYSICAL LOAD
9.13 Asking for and giving help
When you need help, do not hesitate to ask for it. Although it may take some time to
get the help you need, still it is better to wait rather than put your safety and life at risk.
Similarly, when you see your co-worker needs help, anticipate it and go to help. Giving
and receiving help strengthen the sense of community and good team spirit. Even little
things can improve your mood.
The importance of physical exertion in accident
prevention
Ergonomically correct physical exertion enables
safe working. Ergonomic load depends on structural
posture, body control in various positions and
movements as well as muscle endurance and balance.
When we have proper body ergonomics, we can
also effectively benefit from ergonomic work tools
and working environment. In addition, the body
withstands better challenging postures and work
situations that are so common in the shipbuilding
industry.
To prevent accidents it is also important to do
restorative exercises and body stretching before
and after work task performed in awkward
postures as well as during the breaks.
