21. Action to take in an emergency situation
- Assess the situation, remain calm
- Make an emergency call to the workplace emergency number
- Prevent further accidents
- Give emergency first aid
- Ask for additional help and delegate tasks
- Notify the supervisor and the gate
- Direct the firemen to the location of the accident
How to act in the event of fire
1. RESCUE
Warn other people of danger and make an alarm:
a) Call the emergency number:
- explain what has happened
- give answers to questions posed and act according to
given instructions
- end the phone call only when you get permission to do so.
b) Press the fire alarm push button.
c) Direct the firemen to the location.
2. PUT OUT THE FIRE
Use the closest fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
Do not put yourself at risk.
3. RESTRICT THE FIRE
Shut the doors when leaving the ship.
Shut off all energy sources and air conditioning, if possible.
4. EVACUATE YOURSELF
Proceed calmly to the designated muster point.
Do not leave the muster station until you receive permission.
In case of fire or any other emergency situation, there is given
a continuous sound alarm. It is not allowed to use the elevator
in an emergency situation.
